I’ve seen the bad reviews and I am very surprised, my experience with dr. Akintayo has been positive.
He has been a life saver, very different than the regular American psychiatrists. He was trained in Nigeria, in a system that aligned with British/European standards, and it shows.
I also referred a couple of friends and colleagues to him, and their experience was also positive.
To me, as a mental health professional, dr. Akintayo is one of the best psychiatrists on the East Coast.

Dr Akintayo is a gifted psychiatrist. I say that since I am a retired psychotherapist, and I have always found him to be empathic, and attentive to my psychiatric pain when I experienced that. I find Dr. Akintayo to be deeply intuitive and knowledgeable, and I trust his perspective implicitly.

My son has been seeing Dr.A for years now. I love him! He is an awesome Dr. However, his office staff are horrible. They schedule you for appointments, but then make you wait over an hour to see the dr. They can't ever find the correct paperwork. Recently, we were told to come in early because Dr. A was going out of the country, on our final month of medicine, the pharmacy would not fill the script because it was PRINTED 6 months prior, but we came early and my son still had meds left. I called and was told I would have to wait 3 months to get my son in because he had not been there in 6 months, so they treated him like a new patient. We took him, again, was told to be there early, waited over an hour past his appointment time. It's not Dr.A, it is his office staff that make this experience a nightmare. No one has time to sit hours past an appointment for a med check. Unfortunately, due to his office staff, I will be looking for a new provider for my son. 5 years later, new office, same shenanigans.
