“Hello My name is Erica Sutton. I am a single mother of three kids ages 6, 10, 12 years. I live in shelter with my kids in California. They are refusing to help me and my kids with housing. I ask several of time for an housing voucher they turn me down and said no. They told my situation was not important. I am an African American Woman. And me and my kids need help. We are not safe here. They give us only at breakfast 2 waffles and a milk sometime if you dont show up on time they will tell you you can get no food. The food is horrible.. The bed are hard when sleep in it. Alot people have gotten voucher. When I ask her about mines she told me that I dont have one. If there anyone that can put me and my kids in the right direction please do so. Cause we are getting handle the wrong way and because I am sick they are doing me any way. Please help.”

“Now that my work schedule is different, I’m now able to attend church. I asked a friend for recommendation and turns out, two of my friends attend the church with their spouses and children. Today (9/18/22) was the second time my son and I visited Harvest. The first was last week. Both times, I felt welcomed. They have children’s church, which my son highly enjoyed. They helped show me the process and give me necessary information. The first visit happened to be the pastors birthday, so there was cake for everyone following the service. They have a 9am and 11am service. 9am too early for me, so I attended the 11am both times. They have a mid week service on Wednesday but I’m not sure the time. They also have several other events and services too. During this visit, I noticed there was a Sheriff office outside, who I assume is security. With recent events, I guess you can never be too careful. I entered a different door the first time. The church itself is mixed raced and open to all. They also live stream services online. They offer complimentary coffee and water in the lobby area. There is an information desk for visitors and/or first timers. Individuals I met the first visit remembered my son and I the second time and expressed they’re excited to see us, which I loved. I enjoyed the service both times. I plan to continue to come.”
