Iredell County Transfer Station

Iredell County garbage and refuse dump. Open 7 days a week with Sunday hours only during short time. Demo, leaves, glass, plastic, appliances, and general garbage accepted here. Usually clean and not busy except Saturday. Nice recycling center.

Overall the facility is well run. However the guidelines often do not make sense. Example: bottles with caps are accepted, but these could be PVC, MDPE or other less recyclable plastic blends. The symbol on the bottom of a container should be the determining factor - 1= PET(E), 2 = HDPE, etc. whatever is selling best for scrap.

Great place. It is kept clean. Someone gave them a 1-star review because they don't allow trailers longer than 10'. I'm ok with that. Any longer trailers and people will have trouble maneuvering around the lot (the person driving the trailer and other cars). If you live in Iredell County, your taxes pay to maintain this facility. I think it is well-managed and maintained.

Been taking trash and recyclables there for 13 years. I have been impressed with the level of professionalism of the staff. They are on top of keeping everything being put in the correct places.I see several guys sweeping and the cleanliness is impressive in spite of the huge traffic.I'm never concerned that I'll have a tire puncture from glass or metal.
