Down Dog Yoga & Wellness

This is a wonderful yoga studio in Denver, NC. Detra and Lindsay are AMAZING instructors. All of the instructors are great. I feel like I am getting a hug from friends every time I enter the studio. There are classes for all levels. You will find a good mix of yogis (beginners to experts, men and women, even teenagers). I would definitely recommend experiencing this very Zen yoga studio for yourself.

I want to start by saying I am NOT a fitness buff, gyms and exercise classes intimidate me and I find them stressful. I also have limited movement in my foot so I cant do most exercise routines. With all that said, I decided to to give yoga a try and after a google search, found Denver Down Dog. My first class was impressive to say the least. I was greeted warmly not only by the instructor, Lindsey but but the entire class. Each person introducing themselves, helped me get the equipment I may need and welcoming me. After the first week, I noticed how happy I was and my family noticed a huge difference in my mood. Each class I tried, each person and instructor I met was another level of friendliness- truly caring that you were there. Even the owner goes out of her way to introduce herself to anyone new. Not once have I felt judged (even when flailing on the floor trying to do a move) nor have I felt as though I walked in to a fashion show. After 3 weeks, I noticed my sleep has improved, my walk and my strength has improved (I didn’t realize how out of shape I was until starting this) and overall I feel great. The class selection is perfect for those who work full time, making it easy for me to come home, check on the kids then go to class. This really has changed mine and indirectly my families life!

Recently moved to the area and looking to continue my Power Yoga practice. What a fantastic studio. The owner Detra is so kind! The instructors are great especially Lindsay (totally love the Turbo Power classes). All the folks at this studio are amazing. So kind and welcoming. You should check it out. You won’t regret it!

This studio is great for those just starting out, as well as those who have more advanced needs. Personally, I love the power classes and heated yoga, but deep stretch and flow classes provide something for everyone. It's also male friendly, so if you have thought about yoga for wellness and exercise, there are a bunch of us guys there that will make you feel like you're not alone. A great studio for Denver!
