Relaxing and peaceful on the trails. People are not respectful of nature however. Huge parties of people spread out all over inside all the pavilions on the grounds in all the free space. Loud obnoxious music. Irresponsible people fishing leaving line tangled in trees and on the ground. We spend nearly every trip gathering fishing line up and disposing of it properly. We love the peaceful nature walk but around the water people have hammocks and chairs placed all in the words small grills and again loud music just totally disrespecting other visitors and the park.

Charlotte has some wonderful parks and this is one of the best. Lots of beautiful shaded nature trails. Your kids will love the nature center and everyone will love hanging out at the dog park. There's even a lake for fishing!

They seem to have several nice, easy trails, and are dog-friendly. I bet it's much nicer when it's not winter. Still a great place for a walk.

If you are looking for some great trails look no farther. The trails are well marked and plenty to choose from. Each one has benches along the way for those who need a rest every now and then. There is also several lakes and if you like fishing feel free to throw in a line. The nature center is well furnished with plenty of interesting things and of you need to use the rest room they are very clean.

We love this whole park! Beautiful play spaces and trails, and a wonderful and informative nature center with animals and hands-on activities for all ages. We come here with our children to relax and enjoy the outdoors in a safe and maintained environment. They also have a self-serve recycling area. One of the best things about this park, however, is all of the family-friendly programs and festivals. The programs usually allow families to meet and greet animals or learn about native plants. The festivals get so popular that they have to open up overflow parking, but they provide shuttles to the park for free. The staff we have met have all been so friendly. But even if you don't meet anyone else on your visit, this park provides so many quiet and peaceful places to walk or sit.
