(March 15, 2019, 6:33 pm)When I nervously walked in the door with my cat and met the bubbly, energetic, efficient Emily at the front desk, I knew I was in good hands. But then I met Dr. Kristin Scott! Dr. Scott made me feel like my cat was her only patient that day. She evaluated my cat, then carefully and thoroughly explained all my options for her care. She answered my questions patiently and even indulged my interest in dentistry by going into more detail several other, non-urgent, issues in my cats mouth.
Curiously, my cat seemed at ease as she was evaluated by Dr. Scott. That's when I really knew we had come to the right place!
Eventually my cat was anesthetized and treated as agreed upon. During the procedure Dr. Scott stepped out to call me with an update... such a relief to me. A couple hours later I returned and was surprised at her patience as she explained what she found on the xrays. She showed me not only the xrays but photographs she had taken during the procedure to better explain the entire thing.
The post-operative instructions were lengthy and I felt slightly overwhelmed, but again, she carefully, thoroughly, and patiently explained what I should expect as my cat recovered. She went through each medication I was to give and showed me on her own mouth how to do it. I've never medicated a cat, so although funny to watch, it was so helpful and it gave me the confidence I needed to be able to medicate my cat.
24 hours later the hospital called to check on my cat.
Dr. Kristin Scott is a credit to her specialty! I will return to her if my cat ever needs anything else. She was all I hoped for and more. I could tell she loved animals and all she does to help them.

(January 5, 2019, 10:37 pm)Dr. Scott performed extensive oral surgery on our pit mix, Zeus, on 1/4. This was our first encounter with the Hospital for Veterinary Dentistry, and we couldn't be more pleased. The atmosphere in the office is bright and cheerful, and the front office staff and vet techs were so friendly and helpful. They clearly love animals! Dr. Scott carefully explained everything she felt needed to be done, and was able to complete all the work in one appointment. She was wonderful with Zeus, took time to review everything she did, and furnished discharge instructions that were incredibly detailed. We're so glad that our regular vet made this referral! And, our boy is going great!!

(September 26, 2018, 8:35 pm)Dr. Kristin Scott and her techs are amazing. We first went there to have life-saving dental surgeries for our sugar gliders. A surgery that nobody else had the expertise nor willingness to do. She saved them of course. Since then, we've gone to her for all of our routine and non-routine dental needs for our dogs. Dr. Scott is amazing with her patients and makes you feel like you're family. As busy as she is, she always takes time to explain everything, getting to know your pets, and makes you feel like you're her only client. I highly recommend her and HVDOS for the best care your pet can get.

(April 7, 2018, 3:01 am)I absolutely LOVE this hospital!!! I had such an amazing experience with my first dog that I commuted 3 hours from Raleigh when my other dog broke her tooth a year later. The entire staff is insanely kind and caring, and love my dogs as much as I do! The doctors are so knowledgeable and talented, and same goes for the technicians. Emily, the receptionist, is absolutely lovely and a joy to engage with.
Costs can be steep, but this is a referral hospital with highly qualified employees (so it comes with the territory). And I was provided with a detailed estimate before surgery, so I knew exactly what to expect.
This is a fantastic hospital, and I cannot say enough good things about it! HIGHLY recommended!!
