A flavorful fiesta at Fondas Las Tarascas.
Located at the Shell gas station, Fondas Las Tarascas is a hidden gem offering an authentic Mexican dining experience. From the warm greeting by Karla to the wide selection of refreshing drinks, such as the Horchata and pineapple water made with fresh ingredients, every detail is thoughtfully curated.
The chorizo dip with chips was cheesy and packed with Mexican sausage, a tantalizing appetizer choice. Our main course included the mouthwatering Huarches with asada, a flavorful al pastor taco, and a satisfying Mixta torta accompanied by a refreshing pineapple Jarritos.
The food at Fondas Las Tarascas is a perfect 10/10, delivering an authentic taste of Mexico. The staff, especially Chris, were cooperative and kind, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.
In summary, Fondas Las Tarascas is a must-visit restaurant. With its delicious cuisine, friendly staff, and vibrant atmosphere, this Mexican delight deserves the highest praise.
The specials board was written in Spanish, and the cashier patiently answered my questions about the items on the written menu board, so this authentic, clean, inexpensive little eatery did not disappoint!
They seem to make almost everything from scratch, including the corn tortillas for the tacos and the empanadas. The corn cake Huaraches with carnitas was filling for one, especially sharing a cup of esquites (seasoned corn with mayonnaise in a cup).
There are a few tables for eating in. Can't wait to come back for $1.75 taco Tuesday!
A small taste of heaven in the corner of a small shopping area/gas station spot. Listen- this is by far THE BEST experience I've had with authentic freshly made Spanish cuisine... so good I need to list why...
1- I finally tried the street corn and man my tastebuds were not disappointed!!! I clearly been missing out all these years.
2- the service is A1 here! I ordered so much and they were patient with my placing an order.
3- found out they cater... this is for the win!
Overall I ordered- Shrimp dip 😋, Street Corn, 2 Chicken Empanadas, Arroz con Pollo which I took home to eat later even cold was delicious lol, flan & mango juice.
Worth every dang dime.
Prices are GREAT Portions are greater! Word is a new location may be coming in the region. I'll update if I get to check it out.
I encourage you to come & dine. Limited dining space but still one worth enjoying.
I'd give 10 stars 🌟 if I could. Truly not disappointed. Everything tasted so good.
These were some of the BEST tacos I've ever had (and I've had SO many).
Make sure to make a reservation, because they only have 4 tables, and you DON'T want to miss this place.
Their tortillas are fantastic, the meat in all the tacos were had we incredibly juicy and tender (plus, there was a LOT of it), and the chicken tamale was FULL of flavor. On top of all that, the service was amazing. They really make you feel at home.
The photos really don't do it justice, go try it for yourself.
If you're there in Tuesday, grab your $1.50 tacos!
Edit: One year later, it's still awesome.
