So thankful to have found Winnie and Butterfly Braids. Had researched best braiding shops in Charlotte and none have the consistent 5 star rating that Winnie has. Now I know why!
Winnie is a gifted braider and stylist. She is serious about her craft and takes pride in the quality of her work. And on top of that, she doesn’t braid your hair too tight and makes adjustments in her braiding technique based on you hair type - to ensure that her braiding work is truly protective and not damaging to your hair. I came home and sprayed my scalp with a mixture of warm water, and small amount leave-in conditioner, organic grape seed, tea tree and peppermint oil. I put a damp towel over my scalp and put on a hooded bonnet dryer. Sat with this for 1.5 hours while occasionally lightly massaging my scalp throughout. Slept like a baby and the inevitable soreness that comes with just getting your hair braided is GONE! GONE!! Beautiful braids and no soreness the same night my hair was braided. That is quality!! And did I mention her great spirit, the great energy in her shop, reasonable pricing and how funny and fast she is?! She’s the real deal. Braiding since she was a young girl in Africa and it shows in every way you would want from an experienced braided. I‘ve found the braider I’ve been looking for and will be ONLY going to Winnie for ALL my braiding needs!
