This is one of my favorite places to run in the area. A big loop taking the outer trails is about 4.5 miles. If you make it a point to hit all of the trails and spurs with a minimum of backtracking it's closer to 7 miles.
Walked almost all the trails this morning. Lovely 3+ miles. Unfortunately not at all accessible, as trails are dirt and the wooded trails are very heavily covered with roots and divots, but easily navigated by folks without mobility issues. Well marked and lovely to look at. Parking was very full when we left at about 12:15 so recommend going earlier in the mornings if possible for you.
A beautiful section of Duke national Forest along New Hope Creek and a few slightly challenging hills. There are a number of paths so you can walk a mile or go for a longer jaunt.
The trail is well maintained and wide so it’s good for kids. There’s really only
One slippery part for young ones but folks have put boards and rocks to step on and it’s small enough to lift small ones over it. Peaceful and lots of good picture opportunities.
Great place for a quiet walk. Wooded with streams and a few benches. Interesting rocks jutting out of stream and several trees that had grown at odd angles. Trails are marked but are slightly long with rocky and heavily rooted sections. Maps at trail head. One of my dogs favorite places.
