Loved everything I got here! I called for a next day order of 30 tamales and they kindly accommodated!
No joke. Five stars. Great people, amazing food. The burrito was delicious. Looking forward to working my way through the menu. Don't pass this place without stopping.
Whenever I look somewhere up that has 5 stars, it’s usually for a reason, Lupita’s is no different.
Made the 20 min drive from Durham to drop something off in Hillsborough. Passed by it on the drive out, looked it up quickly on google, saw the 5 star reviews and made a quick U-turn… SO glad I did!
Ordered a chicken quesadilla on flour and barbacoa on corn. Sadly camera did not eat first bc that’s how quickly I finished it off. They did not skimp on meat and honestly, the tortillas were the main character. Every other cxquesadilla I’ve had in NC comes with soggy shredded chicken that I honestly can’t stand. Their chicken was diced, flavored with onions and a delicious sauce I believe, a cheese mix that actually added more flavor and again… the tortilla. Wow, fresh and you could taste that it was far from being generic.
Only disappointment was that I move back to TX soon and it took me all of 16 months to finally find my go to spot.
I drove by here many times to and from work before stopping, I wish I had stopped sooner. The inside is no frills but that's okay, it is definitely more of a restaurant than grocery.
Barbara tacos - absolutely amazing possibly the best taco I have had
Chicken tacos - I was a little disappointed the chicken was dry but the flavor was good.
Burrito - it was good but not great
Pombosa- I had never had one before but wanted to try something new, for those who don't know it is a Mexican sandwhich with potatoes inside. The pombosa stole the show in my opinion the bread was soft, the filling (not sure what to call it) was warm and very flavorful, I do wish I had asked for barbacoa.
I will be back
I really like this place. Prepared food was spicy but really good. I can't wait to use them for their meats, unique items and very affordable spices. Good selection.
