Wake Ophthalmology

The other day I had an accident with my glasses and they were unusable. My prescription has changed over the past 3 years and my backup pair was not effective reading anything closeup. A critical part of my job is reading small text on drawings so I was in dire need of a replacement pair.
Been going to Wake Ophthalmology for years and went to Optical Shop to order a pair, figuring I will just have to get by for two weeks while they are made and shipped. I met with Evie in the Optical Shop and told her my story. She looked at my glasses and said she could fix them right now, I was surprised because my frames have a very fine wire that holds the lenses in place that would normally have to be done in a factory. Sure enough, she got out her tools and the special plastic see-through wire and went to work. The procedure was very complicated requiring much dexterity and know-how. After 5 minutes or so my glasses were as good as new. I am very grateful for the outstanding service provided to me by Evie of the Optical Shop. I definitely recommend the Wake Ophthalmology Optical Shop; their staff is very friendly, well trained, and always helpful

Caring compassionate physicians, beautiful and clean offices, lovely front desk staff. There is a reason you may not be able to get a next-day appointment - these physicians are terrific and they are worth the wait. Optometry department is also fantastic and always rushes to get me contacts when I’ve forgotten to order in advance. Thank you for caring for this community for over two decades!

I was referred by my optometrist to this practice around 3 pm on a Friday afternoon. They not only were able to work me in despite having a full schedule and it being late on a Friday, but Dr. Compton correctly diagnosed my problem. I had a retinal tear which was a visual emergency. He referred me to Carolina Retina and I was able to have the surgery to repair the tear that same afternoon. Dr. Compton was great. He was very thorough in his exam, explained everything clearly, was patient, and answered all my questions. Thanks to him, my vision was saved.
I'm now a regular patient and recently had cataract surgery done by Dr. Compton. He was great about explaining all my options, the pros and cons of each, and what to expect. The surgery was seamless, and I now can see clearly for the first time in years. I went with the Panoptix lens and am thrilled with the outcome.
I highly recommend Dr. Compton for his expertise, patience, bedside manner, and thoroughness.
Tracey and Kristin were also great and very helpful in answering questions and helping to get everything scheduled.
Overall great experience with the practice as a whole every time I have been there.

Dr. Compton was thorough as well as very personable. He didn’t rush things and took the time to answer all of my questions and concerns. The front office staff as well as the exam technicians were also very friendly and made sure I was seen in a timely manner. Excellent experience and I highly recommend!

I think the world of Dr. Compton. He makes this 'old lady' always feel better and ALWAYS listens to what I say and ask. Even at this busy time with less staff, he took all the time I needed and explained everything to me about my 'sparkles' and my yearly eye exam. I am so glad he is in this practice and I was lucky enough to shift to him after Dr. Ward retired.
