Good place to practice and see some cool "wreckage" underwater.

Cool place, there are some things underwater to see, good visibility. Friendly stuff.

Fun way to get some scuba experience before heading out to the ocean, or if you’re living/traveling close by! Bring your own gear! We did our third dive for scuba training here.

Made the mistake of thinking this was an open swimming area, it’s not. It is just for scuba diving. It looks very beautiful and fun and the older gentleman that we talked with was very sweet and apologetic about the fact that it’s divers only.

Have taken my open water, advanced open water, and had multiple non-training dives here without any issues. The quarry has multiple entrances and plenty to see underwater (sunken boats, planes, cars, etc). There are no facilities provided by the establishment here outside of port-a-potties, so ensure you bring all equipment you require for your dives plus food and drink for your surface intervals.

The visibility does get poor later in the year with visibility getting to 5-10 ft, which I can only assume is due to the number of divers in the water and being trained.

Our last visit on July 10 had quite good visibility of around 30-40 feet in the shallower areas and 15-20 ft as you descended into the thermocline. The surface temperature was in the low 80s and was 69 degrees at 35-40 ft
