As a member of this school since 2003, I have seen first hand the power of a good martial arts school. A good martial arts school isn't just knowing how to show students how to simply kick and punch. That's only the beginning.

Hard work leads to skills that are tailored for you as an individual. One learns how to be effective with their skill set in the body they currently have as an individual. This school is for those who are young, old, athletic or non-athletic/coordinated, slender build vs. solid build, and the list goes on.

I have seen numerous individuals grow in their journey as a traditional martial artist. This isn't a sport school and that's perfect for me. I've been doing martial arts since I was 13 years old and I aim to continue long into my retirement years. I can easily do this at any age or physical condition, while at this martial arts school.

This school is refreshing in a mass produced world of instruction to find a martial arts school that guides you as an individual on the path to being the best you. The lead instructor is both knowledgeable and passionate about teaching the martial arts. He is a very skilled teacher and also connects with all of the students in the school.

As others have mentioned this club is a family friendly environment or better yet a multi-generational training floor. What a great way to train with such a tight knit group. 16 years and counting as they say folks vote with their feet.

One of the only places we miss in eastgate! If you live close this is hands down the best place for martial arts. Highly recommend sending your child here.

I've been a martial artist for 13 years now. Do they teach martial arts? Yes. However, if you expect to able to defend yourself against a real threat, I'm sorry but this place won't help you. Real self defense training is brutal, not a family friendly environment. Does light sparing and traditional training prepare you for real threats like gang violence, murderers, rapist, multiple people with weapons etc? No. The instructors are great people with great personalities however, just be aware that they teach traditional martial arts, not modern self defense. Don't lose your life because of hollywood.

Truly traditional place for the entire place to train. Outstanding focus on self-defense for people of all ages and sizes. Not only is EMAC family friendly but the tenured instructors and students maintain an incredible family atmosphere. Grand Master MacFarlane is a superlative instructor that has made his best students into outstanding instructors over the last decade and a half.
