“We highly recommend Rich. He and Zach worked wonders on our home! We had restained our first floor and two staircases and Rich was supposed to “touch up” any spots but it turned into a much larger project. He painted over 80 spindles after they were installed, fixed water damaged drywall, painted walls, and fixed areas where the baseboards had to be removed in order to stain. He corrected blemishes in hardwood steps that had been carpeted and were instead stained and painted. He came up with creative solutions and refused to leave us with a partially completed job even as it grew to be a much larger project through no fault of his. He saved us money by showing us where he could stop painting without creating shadows, and also pointed out where we needed to keep painting. He worked around other crews including brand new carpeting. He gave us suggestions on project management. Nothing was outside of his skill set and he was meticulous. We highly recommend Rich and hope to work with him again.”

These are all on the sign outside of St. Barnabas (on the corner of Wolf and Bradley), and they are a good explanation of why I love St. Barnabas. I love that we are honoring traditions that other Christians have for hundreds of years with an Episcopal liturgy that weekly feeds my spirit, while also listening to progressive sermons that connect ancient Christian practices with progressive worldviews. And the best part is the children's programs that really help my daughter to grow in her faith while being radically inclusive and welcoming to ALL people. Can't say enough good things about this welcoming, loving church!”

“Where do I even begin? I’m gonna try and make this as short as possible. Approximately 4 years ago, I wanted a lifestyle change. I was willing to do whatever it took to get the transformation started. I had just purchased a fitness membership to a local recreation center in the area and I couldn’t have been more pumped. I saw a flyer from Prescription Fitness at their front counter so I decided to call the number provided to check it out and see if this was something that I could take advantage of, being that I was ready for the new me. I spoke with the owner of Prescription Fitness Joe Butler about his organization and what benefits I could receive by purchasing personal training sessions. Joe was extremely nice and understood my goals, yet working so much, he took in consideration the time restrictions I had working shift work. I decided to buy a few sessions and then told him I would contact him in the next week or so to set up times at the gym to get these sessions started. Sadly, I started working all kinds of crazy hours and just couldn’t seem to fit anything in. Joe would call me periodically and check in to see how I was doing and if there was some available dates to work with and unfortunately, I told him I would have to get back with him, 4 years later. I called Joe up last week and said “I know you don’t remember me but I bought some sessions from you 4 years ago…”. Joe said “ of course I remember you Scott, I was just waiting on you until your schedule was freed up a little so that we can get started on this transformation. Your sessions are still good and I would love to take this opportunity to help you achieve those goals you set out to accomplish 4 years ago”. I just completed my 1st session with one of Joe’s certified personal trainers and let me tell you, the workout I received along with the knowledge I gained about my own body and how muscles work was absolutely amazing! The trainer went over detailed information with me throughout the workout and specifically took a special interest in answering all my questions regarding healthy eating, stretching before a workout, and so much more. After my first session, I knew this lifestyle change was definitely obtainable and the trainer gave me the confidence that there was no better time than right now to make the decision that would benefit me for the rest of my life. I would definitely recommend Prescription Fitness to anyone who is brand new in the exercise arena or is looking for that coach who knows and understands your goals and will do everything to make those become a reality. I had 2 big couches (one was a fold out bed), a box spring, a mattress, one headboard, queen-size bed frame, and old automobile seats. Alexandria called when they were on their way, and answered any questions/concerns I had regarding room space, hallway access, etc. They gave me an on-site estimate within 10 minutes, and got everything loaded onto their trucks within 15 min. So much about this staple brings back fond memories; mint chocolate chip ice cream after a soccer practice.. turkey sandwich on the go.. jolt cola for the late hour shenanigans.
