Moosehead Hoof & Ladder

We have been wanting to try more local restaurants in the area so in our search for new restaurants, we discovered Moosehead Hoof & ladder. From the get go, was very impressed. The decor/atmosphere was very inviting and welcoming.

Menu has a very good overall selection of dishes that made it difficult to narrow down our choices.

We ultimately started with the wild buffalo rolls with the mild buffalo sauce as an appetizer. Easily some of the best deep fried rolls we have had at a restaurant. Chicken had an excellent flavor and the outer shell was very well prepared and deep fried. The buffalo sauce was very good (it also served as a great French fry sauce later in the meal)

For my entree, I ordered the mooseberry salad with grilled chicken and cranberry vinaigrette. The strawberries, oranges, candied pecans and chicken complemented the salad extremely well. The sweet cranberry vinaigrette was the perfect pairing for me on the salad. It was a generous portion of mixed greens, fruit, and chicken.

Will absolutely return and have several folks that we will want to introduce to this restaurant now as well. We look forward to visiting again in the future.

We were a large group and we were accommodated very nicely we had a reservation and the tables were set up for us we were given glasses of ice water as soon as we sat down. We were waited on promptly and for there being I believe there was 13 of us the food seemed to come out fairly quickly I believe we all enjoyed our meal I didn't hear any complaints several of us my self included needed a take home box which was promptly offered we didn't have to wait around for our bill. For those of us who paid with a card that was taken care quickly which was nice as those paying with cash were ready to go. After a long hot very hot 95+° day The Moose Head was a nice relief and we didn't even have to ask for refill on the ice water. It was a nice way to end our trip to Olmstead Falls.

It's so comfortable there. Good solid menu, reasonable pricing compared to comparable venues. Quick, easy service. No complaints.

Highly recommend this restaurant. The menu is varied yet not overwhelming. They can accommodate gluten-free and non-dairy to a degree. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were friendly and professional. The restaurant was converted from an old firehouse so it has a nice charm. Try their homemade chips made from sliced potatoes. Better than fries.
