“I took the photo of the playground slide at Almira School on June 16, 1954. It shows one of the two fenced-in areas of the playground. On the far left, a corner of the big sandbox is visible. In the center is the slide. In the summer, kids would bring pieces of wax paper for the slide, to make it extra slippery. Also in this enclosed area were the three-level chinning bars. Items that used to be X amount for the entire package are now X amount per pound; make sure to watch out for that.
