Columbus Zoo and Aquarium

What a winner! We all had a great family day. Grandparents, mothers and fathers as well as children and toddlers. It was a great zoo. We have visited many zoos and this one ranks among the best for family friendliness. The animals were well cared for and very active. The atmosphere was relaxing with plenty of areas to sit and relax. We appreciate all the shade available in different areas. Good entry. gift shop. Clean bathrooms in general. The price is good for a full day of adventure. If you're a local, check out the annual passes, it's worth it and you're supporting the zoo.

We absolutely enjoyed our whole experience at the zoo! It was very clean and spacious. All of the animals seemed happy. You could tell a lot of thought went into each animals living space. We really enjoyed getting a under water and a separate above water view of the Polar Bear. And enjoyed watching the monkeys swing and play on there nice "jungle gym". I've told several people how much we enjoyed it and recommend this zoo. We will def make plans to attend again

Amazing zoo. I live near Cleveland, so I've been to the Cleveland Zoo quite a few times. It's very nice, but the Columbus Zoo is better. It's bigger, with more animals, and the habitats that the animals live in are incredible. The larger animals actually have room to roam. Also, if you time your walk through right, you can see every single interactive trainer exhibit that they hold every hour. The cheetah run and the penguin feeding in particular were very enjoyable.

The largest zoo in the U.S. did not disappoint! It well deserves the fame. There are great precautions, studies, trainings, and care put into ensuring the animals are treated humanely, and there is a large selection, organized by continent. Food and gift shops are wonderful, with gluten free options (occasionally begrudgingly) are provided (by this I mean some staff grumble about heating up food that is not part of their main sales, and you will have to wait a little longer, but decent quality allergen food is provided). On that note, the zoo is not free from peanuts for those with allergies. Enter at your own risk. Overall, there are events and attractions that are high quality and make this much more than your average zoo. The staff are knowledgeable and eager to provide you with facts and stories about the animals. Special tours offered are wonderful and informative (Animal Hospital tour is highly recommended) although a bit pricey. Overall, it's good fun for all ages and frequently called one of the best zoo experiences in the country.
