Pastor Condrey is sincere and passionate. He and Cindy are a humble, hardworking couple who love the Lord, each other, their congregation and their community. They're real and are able to comfort; having been themselves comforted by God. Wise counsel and teaching because they are determined to be lead by the Holy Spirit in the business of lifting up Christ and obeying The Father. Strong respect for the inerrancy of the scriptures. In other words....God has given Millersport a gift and treasure and you can learn and grow in God at MUMC.

Several years ago, I volunteered with the Millersport Community Food pantry which is sponsored by Millersport United Methodist Church for about 3 years, expanding it with the help of both community and MUMC church member volunteers. Working on a donation based budget, we were able to raise funds for a dedicated building, add more refrigeration and a generator to ensure perishable food would stay fresh for our community friends and neighbors. The volunteers are kind, generous and dedicated: many have worked with the pantry for a decade or more. Some community families have had up to 3 generations volunteer over the years.

The pantry's volunteers also serve with numerous community organizations, including dedicating countless hours the week of the annual Sweetcorn Festival to help run many of the booths for local organizations. In small towns like this, it isn't a surprise that a few times a year, staffing may be tight but the pantry works diligently to get enough volunteers to maintain its service schedule to the extent possible. Barring an emergency, closures are often posted in advance so the pantry's regular guests are aware of a one off closure.

If someone in the community is in dire need on a non scheduled service day, please reach out and try to make arrangements through the Millersport United Methodist Church office during normal hours. People answering the church phone from the secretary, volunteers and the Pastor are kind, thoughtful and understanding community members.

Any ID/residency requirements are twofold: 1) they help the pantry meet tracking standards required throughout the national foodbank system when a pantry receives Federally sponsored food commodities and 2) they help the pantry ensure it is serving its dedicated geographic area when there are numerous neighboring pantry service areas. Avoiding significant geographic overlap allows each area pantry the ability to be more generous in its home area while still ensuring people from outside our service area have a viable pantry option local to them.

Baltimore, Buckeye Lake (Licking Co.) and Thornville (Perry Co.) also have wonderful dedicated teams of volunteers serving their areas of the local community as well. The MidOhio Foodbank website can also be a resource as can calling 2-1-1 for residents of Fairfield County.

Love the friendliness of the congregation. Love that the music includes a praise band as well as hymns and a choir. Pastor Jim is passionate in his sermons and the Holy Spirit is moving the congregation to become disciples in the community. It's a great church! Try it!
