My father came here after having open heart surgery, for his PT/OT rehab until he was able to be released home. The entire staff was friendly, accommodating, and extremely helpful. The PT/OT team were excellent. They all provided excellent care for my father. Someone came in daily to clean his room, toilets, sweep his floors, etc. There was no lapse in care, and he received all medications he needed as well as bathing/cleaning routines.
When leaving this review, I asked my dad how he would rate his stay out of 5 stars and he said 4. I asked why 4 and not 5, given the excellent care he received, and he expressed that the only room for improvement would be for them to have a dry erase board in each patient's room wherein whomever was visiting his room that day could leave their name and department so that when he had a follow up question, he would know who to ask. He said at any given time on any given day, 10 individuals might come into his room and although they would introduce themselves, given he was on so many meds, he couldn't remember their names so when he had any follow up questions, he would have to track someone down in the hallway or ask a nurse to please put him in touch with the proper individual in whatever department he needed to communicate with (e.g. pharmacy, those scheduling doctor's appointments, the restaurant/meal staff, etc.). So, really this should be 4.5 out of 5 stars, but Google will not allow us to do that. Still, his care was excellent so although there may be a tiny room for improvement in terms of how patients communicate with their care teams, there was no lack of attentiveness on their part. We highly recommend the Laurels and would gladly use their facilities again should the need arise. We trust them with our father as we visited almost daily and he was never without anything he needed.
