Seems like a great parish! I also love the chapel downstairs. However, I signed up to help out at the perpetual adoration chapel as a sub and I’m usually free most often to help in the evenings, when the door to the chapel is locked. I called the parish office and told them I picked up a later time slot and was denied the code to the door, and I was told to walk around and go through the church doors and cut through that way. That worked. But a few weeks later, I signed up to fill in at 9pm on a Saturday, not thinking about it and realizing later that there would be no way for me to get inside this time. Thankfully there was a parishioner outside sitting in his car. He said they weren’t supposed to give the code out. I requested that he just open the door so I could get inside, but he refused to let me in until I could find a confirmation email proving to him that I was supposed to fill in during that hour. It was extremely frustrating. I’m not sure I will fill in anymore without the code because I’m taking a gamble as to whether or not I can even get inside to do my duty that I signed up to do. This is not my parish so I understand I’m not entitled to having the code, but I want to help because of how important Eucharistic Adoration is and I really appreciate having perpetual in the diocese. It’s easy enough for me location wise since I live on the east side. I know it’s a large parish that I doubt is in dire need of people, but I would still suggest being a little less selective of who is allowed to have the code, especially people who are trying to help you. Otherwise, this seems like a really awesome parish!
A great welcoming parish. If you're just passing through or looking for a new place to call home, try St. Matthew's
Just a wonderful experience all the way around the sermon is very well Delivered for those that may not totally sometimes have a hard time understanding what the meaning of the sermon is about, The people are great friendly, They go above and beyond the healthy community.
Perpetual Adoration in the Divine Mercy Chapel underneath the church.
Jesus always get 5 stars BUT i would give this church architecture 1 star. Why did they tear down the original church? Was there a fire? I swung by to show my son where i went to school and church when I lived here and it changed, a lot. I'll miss praying the stations of the cross winding around that circular church of old. God bless.
