“I am a cellist with professional playing skills. I recently purchased a cello for personal use that was 21 years old, but had not been played for six years. I was quite familiar with the maker and knew the general condition of the instrument. But upon receiving the instrument, I learned that the lower two strings lacked focus and the upper two did not have the zing I required. Fifteen minutes with Mr. Alfaro was all it took for him to diagnose the situation. After a neck raise, a higher soundpost, and a higher bridge were installed , the cello roared back to the life I knew it had in it. Upon receiving the instrument back again, Pablo took the time to explain to me the physics of why the cello needed the work it did. He did so in such a manner that I completely understood how the changes were made and why they were necessary. This is my third time that I have visited Alfaro Violins, coming to his shop from several hours away. He does excellent work and I highly recommend him. As well, his shop is conveniently located close to the I-85 / I-285 interchange on the east side of the Atlanta metro area.”

The facility is so clean, the staff is incredibly friendly, and Dr. McCartney is very knowledgeable and puts me at ease. I swear he has me laughing for half of the appointment!
