I had a lazy eye for most of my life. At the age of 30 I finally decided to do something about it. Dr. Szmyd did an excellent job with my eyes. I am no longer self conscious about them.
Dr. Szmyd has been treating my son's accommodative esotropia - say THAT 3x fast - since he was under 3 and non-verbal. Sadly he is both 15 now and HIGHLY verbal (it's a joke! mom of special needs kid humor). Speech therapy (and OT+PT) last 12 years was TOO good!
Dr. Szmyd really tailors her interactions to fit the patient & patient's family/caregivers she is treating. We had begun our journey when Eli was a baby. When our insurance coverage changed Dr. Burke said to go see Dr. Szmyd, he trusts her like no one else. Advice well taken & appreciated all these years later.
Had we not moved to Savannah, GA we would already be on the schedule for the next appointment, even 12+ months in advance. Dr. Szmyd is worth waiting! We miss her terribly.

Her approach is perfect for children. My son has significant sensory delays and she handled him beautifully. She's always up front, honest and caring. We've been with her since our son was 3 months old, and he is now 5! So happy we have her close by!
