I had to call the Dog Warden when my neighbor's dog came over and killed my chicken. The officer came over and was very understanding and kind about the situation. He gave me a few options on how to deal with the issue and then drove back to tell me what happened with my neighbor after giving the neighbor a warning. I had a good experience with them coming quickly during their office hours. The only thing I was surprised about was asking a few times if I had a dog as it wasn't apart of the issue I called about. So if you do call, make sure your dog is licensed.

Over the last 20 years i have probably been there fifty times. I have been there to visit with dogs, make purchases, and drop off donations. I would take my children there to teach them to about dog safety and responsibility. I have delivered lost dogs without tags knowing its the first place we call when a dog goes missing.

I have seen them engage with dogs behind the counter and while in the play yard. I have watch them as they worked to clean kennels. During spring break, maybe 10 years ago, we had a horrible ice storm and I saw a stray with ice on it's fur. When I approached the dog, he exhibited fear then aggression. I went back in and called to inform them of the dog and it's condition. The young man who has been there forever showed up and gently spoke to the dog while throwing him treats. The dog ignored the food and lunged at the young man before taking off. After driving around searching for the dog, he returned to say he'd was going to expand the search. He came back a half hour later and found the dog
He was able to capture dog and most likely save the scared dog's life.

I can't speak on the experiences of other visitors, but I know they have an extremely difficult job that could not do. Unfortunately, they probably have some really rough days and experiences that they are quietly coping with.

Absolutely amazing people there! I got a dog today that kept running away from home and the human mom pretty much abandoned him! Not only did they let me get the dog, they sent me home with a bag of goodies for him! “Bed, new leash and collar, food, treats, a blanket”… God bless those people and their love they hold within!
