Nice park
Very immersive. LOADS of nature to enjoy! Nice recycled plastic boardwalk in the forest trail! Mountain biking opportunities galore! You can make quite an adventure of this place if you discover the hidden trails and the indirect connection to the ledges of liberty park. Be wary of crossing between the two parks as it is private property in between and the owner is a total asshat.
It is quite a large park, if you like to walk a lot this would be it. The sites are beautiful, unfortunately with a lot of fallen trees. But what can you do, that's mother nature. Other than that it's a very peaceful walk seems to be very low traffic which is great if you want to be just by yourself. Heavyly recommended for times when you want to think to yourself.
Love our MetroParks!!!!! This section of Liberty Park is off the beaten path... but worth the trip. It is definitely not as popular as the other areas... but the Buttonbush trail is very nice. It is about 1.8 miles and most of it is wooded. So very nice on hot days. The Pond Brook area does not have a lot of amenities. No drinking fountain and a latrine.
You can get glimpses of the restored pond brook. Half the trail is on a board walk as the area can get very muddy. The rest of the trail is on an old road.
Loveee this hiking path!!it makes you feel like ur totally in nature instead of near traffic constantly
