We also got the eggplant fries (also an extra charge). They were excellent. What a brilliant idea. We had ice cream for dessert. The flavors were very good. The prices were moderately high. They charge a 2.5% fee for using a credit card. In my experiences just about everyone uses credit cards so this amounts to just an extra fee. If you want to charge a fee raise your prices. Nickel and diming your customers is a horrible practice.”

Our go-to drinks—which we order wherever we go—were better than any other bar in the area. The only reason this is not getting a 5 star review is because the crab cakes were less than ideal and the entrance was not exactly clear. However the chicken sandwich was very good. “By far the best pizza place/overall venue I've been to in Summit county. The Margarita pizza is phenomenal, the Brew Wall is a lot of fun for a beer head like me. There's a great beer selection and the wristband to use them is a cool concept. It can get a bit pricey, so just be prepared. The staff was really friendly, although seemed like they must have been new as they were fully confident in their work it seemed. I like how on their menu, they state the prices are made to pay the workers a fair wage, so tipping is not necessary.”

“True story. I met Glenn, the chef and owner of Edgar's, and his then-fiancee now-wife, 30 years ago on Martha's Vineyard when he was just beginning his culinary journey. Since then, I hadn't seen or talked to him until I got invited to join a buddy of mine at Edgar's for a drink in February just before the Super Bowl. Being relatively new to the Akron area, I wasn't aware of what great food I had been missing out on and that Glenn's and my paths had crossed 30 years earlier. We recently recreated the picture from our fun times on the Vineyard (that's us in the upper right hand corner) and I have become a regular at Edgar's because of it's warm and welcoming vibe (what the TV show Cheers would be like if it were set in Akron overlooking a public golf course with a killer sunset view), great bartenders, great service and, of course, fantastic food. Chef's kiss. It's all about the food. I recently shared Jamaican BBQ Wings, Plantains with lemon and ginger, and baked Grouper (a Ghanaian recipe) with my daughter, and we both were impressed with how perfectly seasoned everything was. We even got hot, freshly baked bread brought to our table by our gracious server, Marshall. That was the evening of Tuesday March 7. The following evening, I met another buddy of mine at Edgar's. I had the Plantains again (did not disappoint one bit), a bowl of Gumbo that reminded me of grandma's Gumbo from way back in the day, warm bread, and lemoncillo cheesecake. Everything was on point. If you have never been to Edgar's, do yourself a favor and get there ASAP. Bring your appetite. The food is very reasonably priced given its high quality. Old skool music serves as a nice backdrop to the amazing dining experience. On Friday evening there is a live DJ after 9:00 and on some Saturdays there is a live band (you have to make reservations and pay a cover charge if you want to be close to the performers). Finally, Edgar's is a great place to host an event on their patio during the warmer months of Northeast Ohio. I am planning to have my birthday party on June 10th. I can't wait to gather friends and family for a celebration that includes great food, drinks, music, golf (if you want to get in 18 holes) and and a westward vista that includes a killer view of the orange glow of the sunsetting on the patio of Edgar's restaurant and bar. Five stars for sure.”

Today I went a little out of my way to circle back here and I would like to say that it was worth the trip. They offer a nice variety of breakfast items including GRITS and Sausage Gravy. Our favorite dishes are the Drunken Noodles and the Panang Curry. I would highly recommend the Thai Dumplings for an appetizer—their homemade sesame garlic soy sauce has a bit of sweetness to it and is a perfect compliment. The service we’ve received has been excellent—always friendly and attentive. Additionally, we’ve found the restaurant to be clean and different from many other Asian establishments we’ve visited.
