“I have to say that I was very impressed with Pastor Paul and his gracious, kindness, and caring hospitality. I have never seen this in all my years in going to church. I do funeral dinners at our church, but to extend out to a family as the church did....I was completely blessed. This speaks very well for him and for the church. He is truly a man of God whose heart is made of gold and has a very good congregation behind him. The ladies were just wonderful in the meal they prepared and fixed for the funeral on such late notice. We serve a great big wonderful God and this just proves it. May God Always Bless Your Church”

“OK - I am biased - let's get that out of the way right away. I am one of the pastors here at ALUCC. But a review online isn't just about the pastors. The church is, after all, a community of people in service to one another and to God. ALUCC's motto is "Growing People to Serve God and Others" and it shows in everything the community does. If a person wants to be involved in local mission work, they can easily plug in here. If they want to come to bible studies, book studies and other small groups, this is a great place to be. If they want to be a wall flower, then that is ok, too! There is a thriving Children's ministry, youth ministry and family ministry. ALUCC HAS a true traditional service with impressive organ music and also a service with a worship band if that is more your speed. Avon lake UCC is a "Big Tent" church, and we openly welcome people with different theological, political and social backgrounds and ideas - this can make some people a little uncomfortable being around people that don't think exactly like they do. That's ok. That's how the world is, and that's how Christianity works. The goal is to point people to the message of God's saving love through Christ, who welcomes all people. I'll leave the reviews for the pastors to other people since I can't be objective (Ha!), but as far as the church community is concerned, they are a 5-star bunch!”

“We had been "church shopping" for about 2 years since moving to the Columbus area. Shepherd Nazarene attracted us for several reasons: -They have an awesome kids and youth ministry. This was an important piece when trying different churches because we had one little girl and knew we'd have more kids later. Now we have two and have been pleased with their little church community so far. The older youth appear to be active and invested. It seems like Shepherd offers a variety of experiences for all ages. -All of the staff and other church members/attenders have always been very friendly. The lead pastor was extremely personable during each of our initial visits (and continues to be). -We really like all of the community involvement. -There are neat events too that provide a variety of worship experiences. Overall, we can't be more pleased that we were led to visit Shepherd. We hope you'll visit too and also fall in love!”
