This city, including its council, its mayor, its manager, and its staff are about as helpful as you'll ever find in city government. They do their best with some expenses related to roads, utilities, public events and festivals, etc. but are limited due to the fact that these funds all come from sales tax. Given that Piedmont is a bedroom community it is hard to raise that sales tax. The community is focused quite significantly now on roads and their repair and a bond issue is potentially in the future.
Piedmont has created a new community park that features large 80 some piece playground, splash pad, outdoor athletic workout center, numerous senior and other activities such as shuffleboard and bocce ball as well as shady areas to have family picnics, birthday parties, etc. This park was built through private donations and grants and is maintained by the city.
Piedmont as you may know was rated number one city in Oklahoma to raise a family, number one city in Oklahoma to build a home, one of the safest cities in Oklahoma, as well as even being featured as one of the top 20 cities in the southern part of the USA.
