Dr Cook was referred to me by an other neuro surgeon. He was the third I had seen I had a broke c1 that he repaired..that allowed me to have normal movement of my head and neck...He was familiar with this innovative technique. He is a great surgeon I am very grateful and blessed that I found him. Thank to his skill I may be able to have a normal life.

Dr Cook is the best neurosurgeon ever. I was diagnosed with Chiari malformation 1. I was seeing a neurologist. I was referred to an OU medical. I didn't want to see that doctor. I did my own homework and I found Dr Cook.

Dr Cook took the time texplain exactly what was going to happen and what to expect after surgery. The most impressive thing of all . It's been a while (16 years this month) since I had my TLIF surgery with Dr. Cook. I believe I was one of his first patients after he completed his training at UCLA. Thankfully, he was the neurosurgeon on call the night I ended up in the emergency room after my disks collapsed in my lower back, compressing my spine. He spent endless hours working to meticulously complete a very difficult surgery that my family was very apprehensive about. At the time, I was a young mom with two little ones to take care of and was so happy to have my life back after years of debilitating pain. Dr. Cook is a brilliant surgeon! I have spinal stenosis and it was pinching my nerves between L4-5 giving me sciatica and cramps and pain all down my legs. My knees would buckle and if I didn't catch myself I would fall. I had to use a scooter. I went to an orthopedic surgeon - Dr. Parkinson who was going to fuse 5-6 vertebrae, eight hours of surgery, three weeks in the hospital and I'd never be able to bend from the waist again. Thank God I went to Dr. Cook for a second opinion! An inch and a half incision, scraped the arthritis out from where it was pinching, outpatient surgery, four weeks to feel 100% better. He's all business in the office because he has to get everything perfect for insurance so the patient doesn't have to worry about it - thank you very much - but I sent him an email asking him a question and he wrote the nicest email back and signed it "Shon." Really friendly. I highly, highly recommend him!!
