I was told by my referring physician that they call him "Smiling Jack" Collier-- which was pretty accurate, especially once I was healthy & just doing follow-ups. He always told me I was funny, & asked about my life. Sometimes doctors really set off my anxiety, & make me feel like I am going to get scolded, but Dr. Collier & his staff were always warm and reassuring even if I was in a bad place mentally. When I moved away I legitimately thought "maybe I could drive to Oklahoma City since follow ups are only 1 or 2 a year?" If only I hadn't moved so dang far!
