He saved my left eye by removing a cataract that other doctors were afraid to deal with. I had a condition called "pseudo exfoliation" and surgery could have resulted in total blindness (I already could only distinguish darkness from bright light) or even loss of the eyeball. He had to remove the entire lens (surgery was more than an hour) and when I said the cataract looked like a piece of candy, he said, "It looks like a cough drop." (He has a sense of humor.) A year or so later he removed the usual type of cataract from my other eye; surgery took a few minutes.
Saw Dr. Allison today and as always everyone was so nice and very helpful! Dr. Allison did my cataract surgery (piggyback lenses) about 8 years ago and absolute perfection from day one. He explains everything in such a way that it is easy to understand. I recommend him very highly!
I couldn't have asked for a better Dr. or Staff. Dr. Allison was straight up facts and truths and explained everything I needed to know and then some. His staff went way beyond to make my experience of cataract surgery (both) eyes as easy and positive as they could. I would and have recommended him to many people and will continue to. No one will touch my eyes but Dr Allison, unless he refers me out to someone else.
One of my friends recommended Dr. Allison. Very straight forward and honest on what to expect with regard to cataract surgery. He did one eye the first year and recommended that I do the other eye as well. I held off on the second eye because it wasn’t that bad. The next year it was bad and I headed right back to him for that eye. If I have eye issues in the future I’ll be giving him a call.
