I've been taking lessons from Laura for over a year now and I feel like I'm making great progress with her teaching. Her Bosendorfer grand is a treat to take a lesson on. I'm playing a lot of classical pieces as part of my lessons but she is game to do a wider range of genres and styles. Being an accomplished composer gives her a major understanding of music theory which she in turn teaches to her students. An awesome teacher!

Amazing! I took piano lessons from Laura from 2003-2005... I'm writing this in 2019... so clearly they have had an impact! She is a great teacher and her lessons stick with you for life!

I can’t say enough about Laura. I started piano 3 years ago. I thought it would be hard picking up an instrument as an adult but no - she made it easy and keeps it fresh and fun. I never feel like I’m just grinding it out and going through the steps. She plans each lesson to my evolving strengths and weaknesses so I'm always challenged but rarely frustrated. I took up piano when I started working less. I needed to fill the time with a hobby and it had always been a dream of mine to sit at a random piano in an airport or lobby and just start playing. I’ve got a ways to go before I’m there, but I’m a lot farther than where I started. I know some other people my age who started taking lessons at the same time with different teachers in the area who go purely by the book and they’re pretty far behind me in how we play. Laura has taught me how to sight read pretty easily and how to just improv and have fun with the keys. I’m not even the oldest she teaches. Her “kids” run from 3-5 years old up to 80. She even teaches some of the other teachers in town. She’s the only teacher in the area with award winning albums and a lot of her high-school students go on to get scholarships and competition medals for music. I’m pretty sure she’s the most accomplished teacher (musician who also teaches is more accurate I think) in the area. If you’re like me and want to fill your life with music, she’s the teacher (musician who also teaches lol) for you.

I have had the privilege to learn from Laura off and on since I was a 3rd grader (I’m now 30). Her talents and ability to play and teach such a complex instrument is one words can’t even begin to describe. Eloquent for me comes to mind. She has a unique ability to make everyone learn at their own pace, but push them to be better day in and day out. I look forward to my further lessons from Laura and Perhaps Piano.

I've had Teaher Laura as a piano teacher for a couple of years, and she was just amazing! I will never forget the encouraging experience she has given me as a student. It's nice to hear her albums on Pandora every once and a while since its a reminder of how much she has inspired me to continue playing :)
