This campground is one of my favorites! The best thing about it is that its close to the city! Its clean and theres lots of space! We have stayed in both loops and both have grassy areas for kids to play and lots of room to ride bikes! The bike trails are also really nice and my kids love the playground! Its also a short bike ride to the winery! Only downside is that some of the campsites can get really muddy if it’s raining!
Good stuff about this State Park, the access to the miles of trail along the Willamette River. In fall it's simply beautiful in fall splendor. Having said that it's lost some of its appeal for cabin or tenting with the coldest showers and uncomfortable cabin beds. Camping in your own trailer is reccomended. Dog friendly and our dog Herbie loves the place.
Clean campground only 10min from Newberg, lots of families with little kids riding bikes and scooters, all the dog owners kept their pets on leashes or in pens, campers were respectful about 10pm quiet times, several trails for walking and biking, we'll stay here again when we want to stay close to home!
Had a great weekend at the Champoeg State Park RV Group Site. Even though it rained this large group site is great! The private Meeting Hall was a plus. Will return in the future.
We loved camping here. We stayed 3 nights in our RV in loop B (by far the best loop). The campground is expansive and surrounded by acres of wild open space. There is a large pet exercise area (probably an acre) next to the visitor parking in B loop. The camp host was friendly and helpful (lots of Dad jokes). You purchase ice and firewood through a ticketing system right there (sort of like a kiosk), hand your ticket to the host and they deliver to your site. It was quiet, located way out in farmland. Would absolutely stay again and recommend.
