Bates Car Company

e just purchased a car at Bates Car Company for my son with very little to spend after our insurance company declared his car totaled from a hit and run. All that to say, the initial car we purchased we had inspected the next morning and there were some issues with it. I immediately got ahold of Tom to talk through it and he allowed us to bring the car back and purchase one we felt safe with. He absolutely didn't have to do this, he went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable with the vehicle and was incredibly kind about the whole situation. I can't say enough good things about Tom and this company.

They were friendly, honest and have lots of integrity regarding selling previously owned cars. They fact they have their own mechanic shop is really a plus.

Tom explained his philosophy about what kind of cars he sells (and what he doesn't) in a very open way. He was never pushy. He didn't need to be. The car we looked at and ended up buying was exactly as advertised. Excellent condition at a fair price. Highly recommend.

Tom is a very nice and genuine person. I am a student and i know nothing about cars. But he explained everything in details and he’s being very honest about the condition of the car, etc (he was not trying to ripped me off like other car companies). Also it was very hectic to deal with my family especially my dad who called me & told me to take care of the car insurance first & not to pay the car before i got the insurance, it happens on the same day when Tom already drove the car all the way from Salem to Corvallis. However, Tom was just patiently waiting for me (3 hours lol sorry Tom) to solved everything and do the payments. It was a great experience to buy my first car in the US here, at Bates Car Company. Definitely will recommend this car company to my friends & family.
