Open Door Christian Academy

No matter what denomination you are: as a Christian if you are serving God, if you are Biblically grounded, and if you also understand that we are saved by grace- that’s what is truly important. ODCA does all of these. This school serves the Lord and develops children through His word. It does so through Biblically established values and at a low tuition rate. From what I have researched- the lowest tuition rate in the area. No church or human is perfect, and to tarnish any church’s reputation due to human error or sin is flat wrong. I have witnessed many people in this establishment strive to make a difference and lead others to Christ. That faith and leadership has been questioned by many within and also many outside as well. I’ve heard it all, “well so-and-so did this” or “so-and-so did that”. We all fall short, but the leaders at this school are absolutely dedicated to sharing the word of God and should not to be held to an impossible standard. As leaders of the church and school they absolutely have a higher calling and must adhere to a certain higher standard put forth by God, but the higher standard mentioned above is referencing the idea that they are free from sin. No one is. This school, the leaders and teachers within, the mission and faith they hold and share- that is without a doubt done so in the name of the Lord. There aren’t enough stars to give. My review? Give your children the gift of a Godly education. This school surpasses basic educational requirements. They assist with educating your child in the fundamental basics as well as providing a moral foundation that our children need now more than ever. Don’t be a divisive Christian, be the Christian that stands with any and all who spread the glory and selflessly strive to do so in a US state where Christianity has become endangered. Thank you Open Door for your service to the many lives you have touched. Give this school a chance, but above all: give God the glory.

Just like a previous reviewer stated, we visited ODCA and felt like we’d come home. We are extremely pleased with the attentiveness and availability of the teachers, the structuring of each day, the rigor of the work (namely that it’s spot on for each of my kids’ grade levels - not too heavy, not too light)... Even with C-19 throwing a constant wrench into plans, the teachers and school administration take things in stride and with grace. I’m SO PLEASED that there are clubs and sports/open gyms for my kids to participate in - it’s extremely important to me that my kids get moving and sports/open gym mean that they 1) get to connect with other students and build friendships (which is extremely difficult to do in their shortened Zoom school days) and 2) stay active!

As for the location, I love that the school sits out in the country. It feels safe and private.

Regarding pricing, nowhere else could I send three kids to private school for less than 1k a month.

Open Door focuses on core academic subjects and building character. My children have been academically challenged and have excelled here. There is no such thing as a perfect environment, but I'm grateful for teachers who consistently teach and demonstrate kindness. Our family loves ODCA!

Love this school my sister and brother graduated from here and now both my kids attend! The teachers are very carrying and care about the kids.

We came to Open Door because of the lack of choices in private schools with a tuition that was reasonable. After meeting with the principal, listening to what the school can offer & the requirements of my family as well as each student, we were home.

The comfortable connection we, as a family, felt was instant. We soon found out how demanding the curriculum is and we buckled down to get the work done. The teachers are available & more than helpful. Everyone at Open Door wants each student to succeed spiritually, educationally & emotionally.

Open Door also has a sports program that does well. The players who participate in soccer, basketball & volleyball are known to be of "good character" yet competive. However being "competitive does not require acting in "bad character".

There are many "Christian" schools out there, yet in the last three years of attending Open Door, I am here to tell you none compare. Society is ruining our children & we as parents are letting it happen. We all need a strong hold on God & Open Door gives a clear & direct path to our children so God can hold on to them faithfully.
