Tualatin Valley Academy

We have been loving Tualatin Valley Academy. Our 2 kids both started in the public school system. By the end of 1st grade, with our first child, we decided to transfer him to TVA. It was a great decision for us, as a Christian family. We saw it's benefits beyond just education, our son was happy and blossomed. The teachers are exceptional and go above and beyond (far beyond what they are paid for)...which became even more evident during Covid. Paying for private school is a challenge, no denying it, sometimes painful on the budget BUT...we have found it well worth the cost. We decided to transfer our daughter, after she completed 1st grade at public school, as well. Last year was her first year at TVA. Even with dealing with Covid and all it's hoops and limitations, it did not disappoint and she too loved being in the christian environment and flourished. We are now committed to christian education and will make whatever sacrifices we can to keep our kids here at TVA, our neighborhood christian school. We would encourage any family considering it to go have a talk with the school and try it out. Don't judge a book by its cover. 😉

I love this school! Mr. T (the principal) is such a nice and helpful person. He truly cares about everyone and tries to help when he can.
I've never seen a principal stand by the front entrance school doors outside on some mornings and greet all the students and parents coming in. This is a very personal touch that I really enjoyed. The gals in the front office are really responsible and helpful. If you call during school hours, Monica will answer the phone right away and help with whatever you need (some schools ring and ring and ring). If you email her, no matter how busy, she'll email you back promptly. I love all the teachers my son met there, all the staff, even the after school staff is super on top of it. Can't say enough good things about this school. Sad we have to move😕

TVA is a school focused on giving kids high-quality Christian education. I have kids in the elementary school and preschool and the teachers have been phenomenal. They take time to really get to know my children and to help them be as successful as possible. The small class size is wonderful, and there is great emphasis on hands-on learning both in and out of the classroom.
