My daughter had an amazing experience in pre-K at Gaarde. We had a wonderful teacher and she learned a lot, made friends, and had fun, too. The environment is clean, inviting, and professional. The preschool wing is creative and inviting for students. I would recommend Gaarde as a wonderful private school. Staff show love and care for students, while allowing students to learn and grow in multiple ways.

Gaarde has been an amazing fit for our family. They have talented and creative teachers who work with students in all aspects of their learning. This includes academics, Bible learning, music, art and so much more. We love the one on one attention our boys get throughout the school year. Our family has been blessed with the opportunity to host Chinese Exchange students, which is supported by Gaarde. This has given us an chance to learn about another culture, while sharing ours with a student of similar age to ours. I encourage everyone to take the time to meet the staff and check-out this gem in Tigard!

My Daughter has been attending Gaarde Christian School since Kindergarden. She is now rounding the corner to finishing 5th grade. Her father and I love all of the teachers and staff at Gaarde. Our daughter has been learning well above her grade level while being the youngest in class each year. She tests into the 95% and above on the ACSI tests and has been reading well above her grade level since she could pick up a book. The work load is tough, but I want her to be prepared in life - so we don't mind. While all schools have minor drama, its inevitable, Gaarde tries to work all of the issues out in a Christian like manner. I get asked often what I did to make Ellie so respectful. Not a lot, she has grown into a sweet girl on her own, with the help of a village of people in her life. Gaarde holds the kids to a much higher standard! I APPRECIATE THAT. These kids NEED to be held to a higher standard. We WANT them to be GREAT kids. This is a GREAT school. Thanks Gaarde for your hard work! You guys are pretty amazing.

We loved the small environment and well rounded education of this school where everyone watches out for the best interest of your child and the staff truly treats each child like their own. The Christian foundation our kids got at a young age was started at Gaarde and helped mold them into the amazing kids they are now. Highly recommended!

This was an excellent school for our child for the Kindergarten year for learning and being attended to in a smaller class size. It was highly recommended by some friends and we were able to enroll after public school had started. We chose Gaarde due to reputation and class size. Our child went to public school where the class size was estimated at 21 but ended up at 32 for the year. We did not want her first impression of school to be like that. At Gaarde the teachers and staff are top-notch and attentive. We felt our child did get a great educational start here. Unfortunately Gaarde still had some issues as anyplace would. Their main issue was a pervasive "clicky" attitude with the students who had had gone there previously or were going to be attending though the entire grade school program. This also extended to the parents who knew the staff and other teachers. I know it's human nature but it should not be at the cost of the children's social interaction. As an example: It was most apparent at school nights, holiday celebrations and during birthdays. The School policy was that invitations had to be given to everyone if they were given at school but often this rule was subverted by the parents who had been going to the school for awhile and had kids in the same classes who were friends. Instead they passed the selected invitations around outside in the parking lot or at a school event. We received invitations in this manner and I was not comfortable with it. Also it is not fair to parents that follow school policy and would have to invite and pay for a party planned for the entire class size.
All in all this is great school and still better than the public option if you can afford it.
I have two children, so sending them both here financially is not an option. However if my children were going there I would have made a point of insisting they follow their policies out of fairness to other students.
