“I was helping a friend move a few loads of stuff into the facility. I've had storage in a few different towns in the past, the thing that stood out to me was that it's really tight moving around on the property. You can't get around other cars at all. They squeezed as many units as possible on the land that they have and it's a real pain at times. You had better know what you're doing if pulling a trailer or an oversized moving van because you'll end up working to get around the property. The other thing I noticed was that there were no lights on at all, the night we were there. Just a couple things I've never had to deal with and I probably would pass on these units if it was me.”

“Things you should know-Your tax dollars are NOT paying their salaries. Carriers are NOT allowed to exit their vehicles if dogs are on the premises. Carriers are NOT allowed to back up. Carriers do NOT get paid to deliver a parcel to your house they only get paid to deliver to your mailbox. If you see a carrier delivering after 5pm their working for free! You have NO set time for mail delivery. Carriers are at the mercy of their postmasters, distribution center, Amazon and extra Parcel drop offs from UPS and FedEx added daily to their routes. Only the regular carriers get insurance and benefits. And the only way to become a regular is when someone retires, quits or is fired. Most will work over 10yrs before becoming a regular. I lasted less than two weeks as a carrier before I quit. Frankly, the pay is not competitive $17 an hour to work 10+ hours a days, 7 days a week! Breaking your back to get done by dark- There’s a reason every post office is short staffed. Give your carriers a break and if you think you can do better than apply. I guarantee you won’t last any longer than I did.”

I felt like I was interacting with fellow humans and actually enjoyed the process I was there for. I made quite a few errors with my paperwork and preparedness, but the person helping me was very patient and helped me through all of it. It's just important to remember it's a very busy place; the waiting time is long. Being patient, treating the employees like fellow humans and respecting the process really goes a long way.”

“I have been a volunteer at Bonnie Hays for many years. I can't say enough good things about the staff here! They are caring, professional, and dedicated to all the animals entrusted in their care. These animals that come in with some of the worst medical conditions get top notch veterinary care by the full time vet and vet techs. The shelter techs treat each animal like they were their own. They also have the difficult job of dealing with public who are sometimes less than nice and do it with great skill. The animal control officers rescue animals from dangerous situations. The office personnel are friendly and helpful. The administration is always looking for ways to improve and make the shelter a better place. We are lucky to have such a dedicated group in our county. Thank you for serving us and taking such good care of our animals!”
