(May 17, 2018, 6:26 pm)Firstly, I would like to say that the staff is outstanding, friendly and caring. However, I deducted a star because of two issues. One which I believe is an incompetency, and another which is a possible unethical practice.
Incompetency: As of January 1st 2018, Trummer Family Dentistry no longer accepts United Concordia insurance. Even though we have been clients for over 8 years (since we moved to the area), they did not extend the courtesy to notify us in advance. While it is valid to change which insurances you work with, *it is not acceptable to have a client come into your facility for an appointment, and discover there that they are now out of network.* This is why I removed a star.
Unethical practice: Upon arriving and finding that we were out of network, I also learned that I was behind schedule for X-rays. Interestingly enough I had come in a few months before the insurance change. Based on normal practice, I should have been offered the service. The dental hygienist described it as "overdue", and "should have been completed last during the last appointment." However, for some reason, the X-ray was delayed until after the insurance change. *This could be a coincidence.* However, it seems as if they were purposely avoiding certain aspects of care until after the insurance policy change. That is unethical. Please note that this could all be happenstance, but I for one, am a little skeptical. -

(June 15, 2017, 4:19 pm)My son had a bad fall from his scooter last night and chipped both front teeth. Our regular dentist is on vacation and she sent us to Dr. Trummer. He was fantastic (as was his whole staff)! He fixed both teeth and had a great bedside manner with my 9-year-old son. If I wasn't so satisfied with my current dentist, I would go here in a heartbeat. My current dentist is very particular, so I knew that if she sent us here, he would be very good. Thank you for your help!
