  HISTORY ON HORSEBACK!!!
  This was a very special way to see the Battlefield. What joy my son(10 and a first time rider!) and I had with this wonderful crew from Hickory Hollow Horse Farm.
  Beautiful horses, friendly people, expert guides..so much fun ! We booked the 2 hour guided tour and learned so much about the Civil War/Battle of Gettysburg, and the overwhelming pain our country went through, and those poor people whom lost their lives.
  A MUST SEE AND DO EXPERIENCE!

  Awesome experience. My wife & I took this tour & signed up for a different tour by a different company which I did not care for. Hickory Hollow was an incredible experience. Couldn't meet more caring people. The tour guide talked the full two hours and was very informative. My wife has MS and they were extremely accommodating. The horses were well trained & taken care of. This is by far the best way to tour the battlefield. It feels like your living the experience at the time the battle took place. I already have convinced others to come here. The only thing that could have made it better would to have a beer in one hand & a juicy Wisconsin Brat in the other. Will be back to do it again! Thank you Hickory Hollow your the best. This is a bucket list experience.

  Absolutely PHENOMENAL! Pam and her team are great people and really worked hard to make sure our family of seven had a great time. Horses were great, the conversations were fantastic, just all in all worth every penny. Thank you SO much and definitely will be back!

  Oh this was so super fun!. They were so accommodating and just wonderful people. The owner though...she is just a woman with a heart of gold. Our family of 4 booked a 1 1/2 but more like a 2 hr but not charged for guided horseback tour of Gettysburg. This was last minute. The night before actually. No problem she said, just be here. There were quite a few of us that went out together and the guides made sure we were safe and horses were safe. Just all around great experience. Will def. Book again if we go back! Cannot thank them enough, if anyone is looking into going to visiting PA Gettysburg please check these guys out! They are great and you will not be sorry.

  My wife and I came to Gettysburg for the anniversary of the battle and booked a private horseback tour with a certified battlefield guide. Pam from Hickory Hollow was absolutely wonderful to work with in making the arrangements prior to our visit, and the ride was simply wonderful. The horses were well aged (in a good way) and very minimal guidance was needed during the entirety of the tour. I had some concern for my Wife with riding as she has never had the opportunity. However, after mounting and getting underway, my concern for her was alleviated by how well the horses were cared for and trained. Pam even had some very handy steps to help with mounting. Our battlefield guide, Rick, was a pleasure to listen to as well! Rick was very well spoken and plenty knowledgeable of the history surrounding major events and landmarks from the days of battle. Due to the heat, our tour ran about 20 minutes short, but I didn't feel as though we missed any thing important in terms of the history and reverence of what we were observing. We intend to return to Gettysburg in the future to see a reenactment of the battling and likely another tour with Hickory Hollow! The primary reasons this review is just shy of 5-stars is simply because of the pace of the ride, as well as the area traveled to. The pace was about average walking speed, if not a little more leisurely, and it would have been nice to venture nearer the fields and monuments while on horseback. However, even taking into account those things, I can highly recommend Hickory Hollow as a must for your Gettysburg visit!

Being an experienced rider and horse owner did not stop me from having a great ride this weekend. My husband is a non rider and a tall guy so it was nice to be able to just relax and take in the beautiful scenery on well behaved, well cared for horses.
