My wife and I just moved into New Oxford area and I looked for a near- by barbershop. Found Jenette's and noted the sign on the door before I entered that appointments were necessary, but walk-ins would be serviced if time allowed. I walked in and was politely told time was not available at that particular time but I could schedule an appointment for later. Janett gave me a business card and I called a few days later and left a message that I would like an appointment. I received a call less than 24 hours later ( around 9 am ) and was told I could come in at 10 am or later in the afternoon that day.... or any other future time that was available. I chose the 10am slot.
I could not be more pleased with the friendly and comfortable atmosphere of the shop, the promptness of being able to get my hair cut., and the haircut itself Having the appointment meant no waiting. A real pleasant experience overall.
I"m very confused and disturbed by CW's review. Jenette has been in business, at this location, for 24 years. Her sign on the door clearly states "Appointments required but walk ins taken if time permits." I heard about this incident because my mom was waiting for her appointment (first appointment after Jenette's lunch break). The sign on the door said "Will return at 2:30" and my mom asked this man if he was waiting for a haircut and told him that Jenette probably wouldn't be able to take him because her appointment was for 2:30. He decided to wait anyway so he could yell at Jenette for not being able to give him a haircut, not sure how this was her fault.
