Shehady's Oriental Rugs

We had a rug that was damaged by moths. The Shehady folks repaired it beautifully. It looks fantastic. Wade was great to work with. I highly recommend Shehady's.

Wade helped us clean and restore an antique rug we inherited. He immediately knew the type of rug we had, how old it was, what type of natural dyes it had, sewing techniques and even the symbolism of the patterns. If I ever come across another antique rug, that needs cleaning or work, I know who to call.

Our family had two Navajo rugs for many generations, purchased from Navajo peoples by great-grandparents. They were well-used and well-worn and later wrapped and put in storage for many years. They had sections that were worn through, holes from moths, and shirring from worn threading such that the rugs could not lay flat. The Shehady's painstakingly used Navajo wool with the same dye lots and from the same time frame (early 1900's) to repair all of the problems so that we could preserve these family heirlooms. Now we can proudly hang these rugs and pass them down to our children. I don't know who else I would have trusted with this job, and we are thrilled with the results.

Wade is absolute treasure! Not only did he do a superb job with my rugs (at a more than fair price), he takes the time to explain to you the details of your rugs. He clearly loves what he does and it shows!

It was a genuine pleasure to meet Wade and learn so much about my beautiful Bhukara rug from him. He is so generous about sharing his vast knowledge and love for the rugs and he and his sisters took great care in mending and cleaning my rug. This work seems more of a calling to him than a job. Dealing with him was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. My rug looks really beautiful in my living room, where I can admire it every day. Thanks again Wade.
