  We were first introduced to Tom Boris through an online seminar. We liked what he had to say about getting things in order. When we met in his office, Tom took the time to get to know us and where we are in our life. Tom shared examples and life situations that helped me apply it to my life and make appropriate decisions. I really liked that there was no pressure to do anything. Tom gave us the facts. spelled it out so we understood and allowed us to decide what was in our best interest. My daughter that worked in hospice had encouraged us for years to have a will. With The Elder Law Offices of Shields and Boris we did more than that. I can finally relax knowing that things are in place to protect us, our children and all that we spent our life working for.

  Approximately 17 years ago my parents made a family trust with the help of Jim Shields. My father passed away 15 years ago. All of the estate transitions and ‘stuff’ that needed to be done was done effortlessly and smoothly and quickly with Jim’s help. In the ensuing years, Jim has been there for questions and help concerning my mother’s trust and any changes or questions are handled quickly and efficiently. Our family highly recommends Jim Shields and his office and staff for estate planning and needs. We are sure when the time comes after mother passes that all estate matters will be done quickly, smoothly and easily.

  When my parents needed to make changes to their will and beneficiaries Mr. Shields treated them with dignity and respect. He really listened to them and was very thoughtful with his responses. He gave them options and let them choose the best one for them and our family. I am so happy they have found a firm that cares so much. Thank you !

  Several years ago my wife and i attended a seminar given by Jim Shields and were given the facts about the need to have an estate plan, Health care, and Power of Attorney to protect our family. Some further research reinforced the facts we were given. My wife and I decided to go ahead with a family trust and the other documents he recommended. We met with him at his office and he took the time to understand our needs and desires and prepared our documents. When we picked them up he spent a good bit of time to be sure we understood the full scope of the documents and what were our responsibilities to as inevitable changes in our finances and life took place that we let him know so that our wishes were kept as we intended. We recently contacted him to understand what the changes in the law my affect us. He spent time in a phone interview to explain the changes and what we should look for in the future as we move on in our retirement. He had also obviously had reviewed the document since he addressed the specifics of the new law and what else had been going on in our lives. He again noted what and when we should contact him if specif changes should occur. We ended the call very satisfied that we made a good decision going with Shields and Boris
