“Went here for my wife's birthday. We used to live in the North Hills, and "Off the Hook" was the place to go. Compared to that, I actually believe Mitchell's Fish Market is better. We had the shrimp appetizer, and I had the blackened sea bass. My wife had the stuffed cod. Both of us loved the food (and my wife isn't even a big fan of fish!) Our server was extremely friendly and professional. I wish I could remember his name (tall bearded guy) but he deserves credit. The only reason this is a 4 star rating & not a 5? The hostess who sat us was extremely rude and unfriendly. From the time we asked to be seated, she looked absolutely miserable and gave the impression that we were bothering her. Maybe she was having a bad day... everyone has those. But that was just the only negative part. Also, I forgot to take a picture of the entree because I was so excited to eat it! That should let you know how good it looked”

“Our love affair with Teppanyaki Kyoto started almost a decade ago. We stumbled upon this restaurant when trying to experience authentic Japanese cuisine. As my husband and I are originally from Long Island NY and NYC, we had once had many restaurants that fit the bill. That changed, however, after moving to Pittsburgh. That said, none of them can hold a candle to Teppanyaki Kyoto. We have dined in restaurants with several Michelin stars and have often wondered why this restaurant has yet to earn one. They deserve it. We decided to have a meal here to get a baseline before leaving for our honeymoon in Japan, that way the experience would be fresh in our minds. There was not a single bite we had anywhere in Japan... not in Tokyo, not in the countryside... not near Mount Fuji, that exceeded the taste, preparation or quality of this restaurant. It is 100% authentic and an absolute gem. We are so lucky to have this wonderful restaurant in our city. When guests arrive from NY and beyond, this is always a MUST and our guests always request that at some point we go here for lunch or dinner. In the just under a decade we have been going to this restaurant it has ALWAYS been consistent, delicious, never a mishap or mistake, never a rude waiter or waitress and above all, we have always been welcomed for a delicious meal. My son and family, came from Texas to celebrate my granddaughter’s 2nd birthday so we all drove to West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Having been to this restaurant many years ago, we decided to try again. We weren’t disappointed in food at all. I didn’t give 5 stars for a couple of things. One they charged for water and after a while there were staff members kept coming and giving strange looks at the table as if they wanted us to finish fast and leave. But I’ll definitely recommend this place.”

“Never disappoints. The fried zucchini was a lot larger but I forgot to take the picture. So much we couldn't finish it. Usually comes with marinara sauce but we opted for ranch instead. My favorite has always been a great pizza my BF ordered pepperoni. Everything was delicious as usual. I just love their wood fired pizza. If you decide to visit, notice on the inside there is a disclaimer about the prices of some items going up. Our server also pointed this out. Please be understanding of the fact that restaurants cannot reprint menus every time their vendors raise their prices. Just like going to the grocery store everything is going up. If you have any questions regarding pricing ask your server. FYI a bowl of clam chowder is up to $9.”

I love a good curry and it's hard to find a good singapore rice noodle at a good price. This place has been great each time. The meat is not fatty or rubbery like I end up experiencing with a lot of places. The noodles are not overcooked. I always ask for extra curry and their chef delivered! Not to mention the portion is enough that I can enjoy it later. It's delicious!”

In spite of being a long weekend holiday the next day, Kristina was so nice and sat extended hours to serve us food with such a pleasant smile, we hardly find such nice people these days. “I have been going to this restaurant since 2015. It almost never disappointed me. The quantity of the food is always more than you can eat. The prices are so affordable. The taste is great. The market offers great Arabic and halal products. The only comment is that I feel that a new administration took over. Since then I feel like the place is becoming more and more westernized every time I visit it. The sense of home this place used to give is shrinking. The prices started to go up, the place to pray is not available anymore, etc. I truly hope they bring back the old spirit this place used to have.”
