“I experienced a bit of a debacle with ordering a rug which then had to be returned. Long story short I was supposed to return via Fedex using the label provided. However, the rug did not have any return packaging. Fedex upon seeing my predicament was not particularly helpful and directed me elsewhere and suggested I could mail via UPS and that I needed to wrap the rug. I went to Staples on Penn Avenue as it's my go to for all UPS mail and quick office supplies. It was now 8pm and I was very tired. The staples staff explained that my 'smart label' could not be utilized with UPS. I was so upset after dragging this rug around. A nice young employee, named Nico, was so proactive and really went out of his way to find something that I could use as wrapping. He was so gracious and took the time to help wrap a giant roll of plastic around a rug and tape it down. He helped me carry the rug back to my car which I will again take back to Fed Ex. I was thinking in a world of COVID, people are generally more guarded which is understandable. However, it was so nice to have this nice young man, come up with a creative solution, help me execute it and frankly cheer me up after a very long day. I just hope the Staples managers recognize how awesome Nico is and encourage his excellent interpersonal skills. It's this kind of customer service and support that will have me coming back to Staples.”

“About 3 years ago we were looking for a place for my mom to move from her house. We looked at number of facilities that offered independent living and decided on Concordia of the South Hills. We knew from the moment that we arrived that this was the place that God had planned for her to go. It started with Christie Whalen who welcomed us and made us feel "at home". She was instrumental in our decision to have mom move here because of how she treated us, how she informed us and how she made us feel. Christie is a testament of how to welcome someone to a Senior Living Facility and get them started in this type of living. Mom moved here into a beautiful 2 Bedroom Apartment and, although it took her a little time to get acclimated, it became her home. We decorated it with all of her belongings that she brought from her house and it was wonderful. She made friends, participated in activities and became an active part of the "family". I say family because although other facilities might have more activities and might offer pools and spas, Concordia is a true family feeling. All of the staff, from Glenna and Tom at the front desk to the exercise instructors to the therapists to the dining room servers and staff have been awesome and really provide a welcoming and warming atmosphere. Recently Mom has had some health issues and actually had to go to the Health Center for 2 different stays. While she was there she was taken care of so well and we really got to know and love the aides and nurses and therapists. I would like to name them all but really can thank Jasmine, Montashia, Ray, Lauren, Natasha, Patty, Sabine, Haley, Angel, Chris, Carla and Victor for all their help, all of their care and all of their "love". (if I missed someone I am sorry because they all do their jobs so well and genuinely care). I would also like to thank Jimmy for all he did. He was "always there" and helped in so many ways with so many things. His attitude and work ethic are awesome. Mom is now in Personal Care and although we have just started there it has also been a good experience. She has a wonderful apartment there that we have fixed up as home and know that they will take good care of her as she continues to be a part of the Concordia family. I would highly recommend Concordia for anyone who is looking for a place for themselves or their parent to continue their lives. We have had experience in the Independent Living, the Health Care area and now the Personal Care area and are so thankful for all they have done for us. We feel blessed that we have been able to have them take care of mom.”
