  Hidden gem in Berks county. Amazing history with original structures, open space and knowledgeable staff. Definitely worth the trip!

  The staff-especially the young lady whom was my guide,were knowledgeable,friendly,polite and professional. They made me & my wife feel welcome. Even though it was a crappy day we had a very good time. Thank you. We look forward to returning.

  The Daniel Boone homestead shows the lifestyle of the 1700's. Buildings on the grounds include the residence, bank barn and blacksmith shop. The residence is not the one Boone lived in because that structure was razed by one of the later owners.
  The 579 acres offer hiking trails and picnic areas. Group camping is available in Wayside Lodge.
  Annual events include Sheep and Fiber Day, Sawmill Demos, Heritage Day and Christkindlmarket.
  Great way to spend the day with history.

  My son and daughter-in-law rented the Wayside lodge for my grandson's first birthday party. It's rustic, no AC, but worked well for the parking. Plenty of parking, close to the rest of the site, the lake and the dam. I grew up close to there and always loved going there.
