I am a piano tuner and I highly recommend keys in motion. Kathy is an excellent teacher and a pleasure to work with for students of all ages ????

I have been taking lessons from Mrs. Dykstra since late elementary school. Now as I head off to college in the fall, it is evident how enjoyable my time with Mrs. Dykstra has been. As a teacher she consistently introduced me to new and unique music. She ensured that her students were engaged and had plenty of opportunities to play with each other, and for others via group lessons, recitals, and community outreaches. Thanks to Mrs. Dykstra, I'll be a life long piano enthusiast.

UPDATE!: Another 4 great years of music have passed as my son has continued on with lessons with Kathy. Each recital is a great mix of growing, new students and inspiration to be gained from long-standing ones! Some stand out events have included the Lang Lang 101 pianos event at Temple, good old-fashioned Christmas songs for the seniors at the local community center, and the opportunity to engage in the Dorothy Sutton Honors recital.

Each opporunity to prepare duets, concertos and peices of music to share with others are valuable and I especially appreciate that is available for my son.

It has truly been a gift that has benefitted our whole family- music! Thank you, Kathy, for an outstanding avenue, experience, and investment for Alex!

Our experience with Keys in Motion Studio has been excellent. Our one son joined at age 12 about a year and 1/2 ago, and we were thrilled to start my 6 yr. old last September.

The instructor's expertise, structure, and enthusiasm have greatly benefited our sons' piano experience. In the relatively short time since we've started, we've been to a number of recitals which we have thoroughly enjoyed. It is an inspiration to hear her long-time students play and showcase the high level of instruction given at the studio. Equally, new students "shine" with coaching and encouragement.

There are opportunities for students to participate in group settings and perform ensembles with each other. The effort to engage the students and stay “current” is evident.

The professionalism of the studio, combined with warmth and outstanding training make this a studio we would HIGHLY recommend!

I am an adult student and have been learning piano lessons from Kathy for close to an year and I feel very lucky to find her as my teacher.
I have no prior musical experience with any instrument but Kathy was very kind to teach me from the basics with lot of care.

She always makes sure I play the piano the right way with attention to details and go out of the box in teaching me new songs and techniques outside the regular student books. Her vast experience and above all, her interest and passion towards music is always visible and that gives me lot of confidence in improving my skills.

Now I am able to play small musical bits and songs to my wife at home and feel very happy about it. Thank you Kathy very much with being so patient with me and always pushing my boundaries to become better at playing the keyboard.

We consider ourselves so lucky to have fallen into the talented hands of Kathy Dykstra. Our 7 year old has been studying under Kathy for over one year now and we couldn't be prouder of how much she has learned and how much she enjoys her weekly lessons. Kathy provides a professional yet fun atmosphere and we appreciate her loving encouragement. We are equally as impressed with the quality of kathy's recitals that she coordinates.
