  About 15 years ago, and about a year after receiving my 1st Dan degree black belt, I had left the school due to moving out of the area and because of work constraints. Over those 15 years I drifted away from martial arts training, up until recently when my 10 year old son Shane started to take an interest in Karate. We tried some local karate schools, but I found them lacking - something was missing from how I remembered my training years ago. To try and fill in the gaps I dusted off my old uniform and started training with him in the basement. To my great amazement, and though at 53 I do not possess the flexibility and stamina I once had, all the mental discipline, focus and raw technique that was ingrained in me years ago by Master Chang was still there! Ultimately I knew that if Shane was going to pursue martial arts I wanted him to be in the best learning situation possible and he also reignited a spark in me to pick up where I left off. Shane and I drive to class two days a week - a 3.5 hour round trip - to train with Master Chang and his students. In the 9 months since we’ve started Shane has really made some great strides both mentally and physically - beyond where I think he would be without the training. And for me I feel like I found something that was lost to me for a while. If you want a great mental and physical workout for yourself or a child - doing it together is a great bonding experience! - you will find no better place! Tang Soo!

  I’ve been going to this school for 6 1/2 years now and this school is great! Grand Master Chang is by far the best instructor out there. He teaches you more than just karate. He teaches discipline, respect, and other life skills. The people who go here are kind and respectful and I have learned to have discipline and respect for all people. I’m going for my 2nd Degree Black Belt in December and I’m proud of it. I love going here because the schedule is flexible. Going here has improved my self confidence a lot, especially when I’m presenting in front of a class full of students. It’s an amazing opportunity to be able to participate in these classes and I highly recommend trying it out.

  As a student of Chang Karate School for almost seven years now, I am confident that my parents picked the best school around for me and my brother. At ten years old, I was already a fairly athletic kid, but I lacked confidence and discipline. This is when I started training at Chang Karate School. My confidence skyrocketed, I started getting better grades in school, and I started developing a healthier relationship with my brother. KwanJangNim is hands down the calmest and most talented instructor around, and the other instructors follow in his footsteps to keep the excellent reputation that Chang Karate School deserves. Seven years later I still attend classes with my brother and father in hopes of achieving the rank of second degree black belt. I cannot say enough about this school and what it has done for me and others. For anyone privileged enough to live in the vicinity of this school, I could not recommend a better school than Chang Karate School.

  We take our daughter to Chang Karate School and couldn't be more pleased with the class. The instructors are no nonsense and are dedicated to getting the best out of the children. It is a small school and this lends to more one on one time that helps each individual child. If you are looking to get the best bang for your buck, I highly recommend this school.

  Over 20 years ago, I was looking for a karate studio where I could get a great cardiovascular exercise, rediscover my eye-hand coordination and be able to clear my mind from the day's events. Chang Karate School is like no other and hits all the marks. Master Chang's dedication to his students has no boundaries. He helps his students reach their never ending potential with his positive reinforcement and vast experience. The karate school is great for children of all ages to help them build their focus, confidence and respect for others and themselves. It's also the perfect marital arts school for young and more mature adults seeking a place to learn self-defense without the need for full contact. I would highly recommend coming by the school, speaking with Master Chang and watching a class prior to joining another commercialized school where the level of experience doesn't come anywhere close in comparison with Chang Karate School.
