(December 1, 2018, 4:25 pm)This place was really cool. The mine tour was awesome (a little scary first going in...I kept thinking what if an earthquake strikes and we get stuck lol) and it was great (and sad) to learn what the miners experienced. Even my kids (9, 6, and 4) enjoyed it.

(November 10, 2018, 10:59 pm)Best experience ever!!!!! We were on our way home from Jim Thorpe decided to go the long way through small towns and saw the sign for this place. We pulled in and just missed the last tour. They asked if we wanted to do the tour they would take us down to catch up . . We had an amazing time!!!! Received a personal tour, it was so amazing to learn all about what miners and in my case my grandfather endured to make a living back then. The people that run this mine and tour are extremely knowledgeable and extremely welcoming. We will be back with our three boys!!!! I hope everyone that finds themselves in the area take advantage to learn a piece of our history!!!!

(August 15, 2018, 10:19 am)Tour and museum give the visitor a very realistic taste of the work and the living conditions of the coal mining community.
Guides are very knowledgeable and keep the group attentive and interested. Well worth your time - for young, old and families.
Glad we read the reviews before going so we came prepared with jackets (it's 52 degrees in the mine) and with the knowledge that we'd experience water dripping in the mine.
Mine guides do have extra jackets and hard hats for those who need them. -

I bought a sweatshirt at the store there to stay warm since it's 52 degrees. Happy I did. Wish I had bought more souvenirs. Watched a great mining documentary when I got home. The history of mining is fascinating!
