  I came home from work Monday afternoon to a cold house (it was 11 degrees out). It was 40-something degrees inside. After troubleshooting the t-stat, I called 2 local companies. Neither "on call" technician called me back, even after calling their dispatchers at least 4 times. I set up camp on the sofa. About 4:30 AM, I called R&D. They sent their technician (Ryan) out that afternoon. He was totally professional and went out of his way to try and get my heat going. Unfortunately, the motor had shorted and fried the control board. Given the age of the unit, I decided it would be best to replace the unit. Before he left he told me that a service rep would be here the next morning to give me an estimate. The rep called me at about 8 AM and told me he was on the way. Showed up a half hour later, and gave an estimate that was actually less than I expected. They set up installation for day after tomorrow.
  Update: Installation guys showed up on time, completed the job, no surprises.

  I am a returning customer to R&D. What a pleasant surprise and great experience working with their new customer service rep Kimberly. I am a self proclaimed stickler for good results...and I was not disappointed. Scheduling, visit confirmation, timely reminders (without pressure) and work results for warranty work and regular HVAC maintenance exceeded expectations. It was a pleasure.

  Jeannie was right on time and had all the tools to do a smooth installation. She also addressed my concern to avoid a "head knocker" where I had limited clearance for walking between the duct work and other utilities. She located it up and out of the way, which caused a little more work for her, but seemed to enjoy the challenge of "making it right".

  Jeanie C. provided excellent service. After she diagnosed what was going on with our Heating system, she did a really nice job of explaining the options, the plan to remedy, and then did-so quickly and efficiently.

  Absolutely on time. I loved getting the service person's bio and picture prior to the visit. Jeannie was very thorough and made it very easy for me to understand. Jeannie also showed/explained all of our heating, air conditioner and humidifier systems. I am very pleased with the service call!
