It’s a beautiful state park. Love the views. Great place to enjoy boat rides if you own one. Parking is available just on the shore. It’s a peaceful park.
This is the side of Marsh Creek State Park Lake where most of the visitors are there just to launch their boats into the lake for recreation or phishing. You really have to know where you are going to get to the side of the lake. You have to take some really out of the way back roads which are quite twisty in places. But, once you find the entrance, you are at the top of a steep hill and you can look down and see the entire Lake below you. It is a very beautiful sight. it's really a nice side of leg to visit during the summer time, especially if you don't want to be bothered by a lot of people walking around. Most of the people who are there or either out on the lake, or have just come off the lake and are preparing their boat for the trip home. If you approach the woods on the north side of the parking lot, you can find some really nice Trails for hiking that go pretty deep into the woods. And several places you can find some old dilapidated structures that used to be home before this area was taken over by the government using eminent domain to create a reservoir and Recreation Lake. It was probably 30 or 35 years ago, and the area where the lake is now, used to have houses and streets running through it. In any event, if you can find your way to this side of the lake on a nice sunny summer day, I think you'll really like it.
We use this to stage team MTB rides. Be aware on the weekends the park fills up fast. They even close it sometimes.
Quiet, clean and beautiful setting. Great opportunity for boat and kayak rentals.
Easy to park and launch boats, kayaks, paddle boards. Not too crowded even on busy days.
